Zen Walls offers a an hour of free consultation with every new project. Our motivation is to meet with potential clients and explain the products and techniques we use.  We can briefly relay our thoughts about the possibilities of design and intention. We discuss the areas that need more durable finishes or protection vs those that allow more fine finishes to exist without worry. Typically at this meeting we make certain everyone in the equation is comfortable with going forward with the project.

If  an agreement is reached ,we will ask you to find a 'phrase' of description that defines the space you envision and desire to be created. Some of our  clients have used: 'rustic elegance'....'shabby chic'.....'refined rustic'......'industrial modern'.....'modern chic'....'refined elegance'. Those words create a vision and assist with the direction of impact the finishes will create. Our intention and quest will always be to ensure you receive quality,  the best options for your budget, and complete integrity with your project.

We will create sample boards if requested . The cost of sample boards will be free if we complete project. There is a per sample charge based upon the product and time involved .

The variety of product and application, along with several other factors go into deciding the price of a job. Therefore every job is individually quoted.

Cost Effectiveness: Some finishes are more intricate than others, therefore they take more time or utilize a different product. This should be taken into consideration for your budget. We endeavor to choose the appropriate finish that will gift the impact you are looking for, at a price you can afford. Some factors you should think over before committing to a project:

  • The size of the project

  • The complexity of the finish

  • Where the finish is located, does it require more protection?

  • Cost of the product and equipment

  • Height of the walls

  • Obstacles in the way of the project

  • Deadlines/time restrictions

  • Amount of prep work needed from current walls

Scheduling: We try to work with our clients to block out appropriate times for us to work.

A set schedule will be made or agreed upon before a contract is signed.

Current Walls:  To get to the desired finish sometimes a blank canvas is required. Unfortunately a blank canvas is not always readily available-so we must restore your wall to a neutral base we can work off of it.

Design time: It helps if the client comes to the initial meeting with a clear sense of what they want. Pictures, screenshots, anything to help us better understand exactly what you envision. This helps us achieve the desired goal in the most cost effective way. Generalizations such as "Tuscan villa" and "rustic" tend to leave a lot open for interpretation. The more specific you can be with what you want (colors, designs, specific finishes, etc.) means less design time for us, and more money in your pocket.

Photo Release: Photos are taken in the beginning of any job to help all parties involved. A photo release form will be presented after the signing of the initial contract. This is a simple release form which states our intention to take pictures of your home before, and with permission, after the job has been completed. These pictures are taken to help design choices, communicate ideas, and may be used on our online platforms to show case our work.

Samples already created:  Samples assist in the design process and can be provided with an additional deposit that will be returned on completion of job.
